Working in Good Ways: A Community Engaged Learning Institute

This four-day institute offers staff, faculty, and instructors an opportunity to explore different ways of using the Working in Good Ways Framework as a teaching tool for developing students' capacity for ethical and meaningful engagement with Indigenous and systematically marginalized communities.

Participants will become familiar with the Working in Good Ways principles and practices for community engaged learning, learn from guest speakers (may be on- or off-campus), and develop teaching materials and resources for their own courses.

When: The institute takes places on August 31, September 1, September 2, and September 3. Each day is from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. We ask that participants be available for all four days.

Location: Room 108, St. John's College, 92 Dysart Rd, with possible day trip to a community site

Open to: UM Faculty, Sessional Instructors, and Staff (registration available now) and Faculty, Instructors, and Staff from other Postsecondary Institutions (registration opens August 10).
