Hi All,
Thanks for your feedback on our meeting minutes. I’m attaching a revised copy for your review. If there are other outstanding comments to be considered, please send them to me by this Friday October 13th.
Thanks in advance,
Kim
Hello All,
Very nice to see most of you virtually earlier this week. Please find the minutes from our last two meetings attached for your review. Please send a note if any additional changes need to be made. Dan, if you could please confirm receipt of this email, this will let us know that the listserv is indeed working.
Thanks,
Kim

Our places of learning, rest, care, leisure, and employment take place on unceded land. These practices of living were prematurely taken away for many Indigenous people. The University of Waterloo (including the Waterloo, Kitchener, and Cambridge campuses), the land on which I work, is situated on the Haldimand Tract<https://www.protectthetract.com/land-rights-statement> land promised to the Haudenosaunee of the Six Nations of the Grand River, and is the traditional territory of the Neutral, Anishinaabeg, and Haudenosaunee peoples. We must care for this land, our fellow humans and non-humans, and work towards seeking difficult truths and facilitating reconciliation in solidarity with all First Peoples.
*Please note that if you receive this email outside of your normal working hours, I do not expect your reply. I am working in a manner that works for me and respect that this may not align with your normal working hours. Thanks in advance for normalizing flexibility.
Hi everyone,
Thank you for a very productive meeting yesterday and for freely sharing your knowledge and ideas. Based on this meeting, we voted on sub committees. Note that I have kept the names of these sub committees as we changed them at the meeting, only to reflect the new tasks assigned to these committees (so that you can confidently choose which committee you would like to serve on) and that, when you meet as a group, you can change the name again.
Please respond to the questions below and forward to fenton.litwiller(a)umanitoba.ca<mailto:fenton.litwiller@umanitoba.ca> (rather than sending your responses to the listserv).
1. Your name:
2. How many subcommittees would you like to serve on (one or two):
3. Please rank order the three subcommittees that you would like to serve on by placing a number beside the subcommittee (i.e., 1, 2, or 3):
Awards and Grants committee (at least 3 members):
Outreach and events (e.g., congress) (at least 2 members):
Anti-Oppression and environmental justice (at least 3 members):
Communications (at least 3 members):
Financial and membership (at least 2 members):
Student advisory (to sit on the outreach committee) (at least one student):
Thank you! Once all responses are in, I will get this organized as soon as I can.
Sincerely,
Fenton

The University of Manitoba campuses are located on original lands of Anishinaabeg, Cree, Oji-Cree, Dakota, and Dene peoples, and on the homeland of the Metis Nation. I respect the Treaties that were made on these territories, I acknowledge the harms and mistakes of the past, and I am dedicated to move forward in partnership with Indigenous communities in a spirit of reconciliation and collaboration.
Hi all
One of our first agenda items tomorrow is to approve the minutes from the May 2023 changeover meeting. These minutes were sent out in May, but I am attaching them again here so that they are accessible to you.
See you tomorrow,
Fenton
