Hi Everyone,
Please find attached the materials need for our upcoming board meeting on March 4th from 9am to 11am central time (these materials are also attached to the calendar invite).
Can the chair of each subcommittee please fill out the subcommittee report template (attached) and email it me to ahead of our meeting if you have not done so already?
After the board e-voted to extend Dr. Rebecca Genoe’s term as Editor of Leisure/Loisir for two years, Dr. Genoe accepted. On behalf of all the board members (many of whom expressed thanks in the qualitative section of the survey), we are grateful and excited for your continued service! Because e-voting is not yet in our bylaws, we will have a motion and vote at on Monday to formally extend the term.
Please note that our annual board meeting will be held on May 15th and 16th on UM campus or zoom (please see Dr. Lopez’s related email). Also, our annual general meeting date is June 5th at 10 am central. If you did not receive calendar invites for these dates, please let me know.
Thank you,
Fenton

Hi All,
I hope this note finds you well as you approach mid-term/winter break. I’m writing to check in with folks about your plans to attend our May 15-16th CALS meeting.
Our meeting will take place on the U of M campus. Please see the attached travel support guidelines for details. In sum, “direct expenses associated only with transportation and up to two nights accommodation” will be provided only to “Board members who do not have adequate access to any other source of travel support from their institutions and/or grants.” Funds requested to attend the CALS meeting should be requested in advance (i.e., indication of your plans to attend would qualify). While CALS encourages board members to seek alternate funding sources to facilitate their attendance first, CALS will reimburse the direct costs associated with attending in person. Specifically, travel to Winnipeg and two nights accommodation. While you are in Winnipeg, coffee, snacks, and lunch on both days, and dinner on the 15th will be provided. For those planning to attend in person, you may be interested in the following hotel suggestions for your stay: Holiday Inn<https://www.expedia.ca/Winnipeg-Hotels-Holiday-Inn-And-Suites-Winnipeg-Down…>, ALT hotel<https://www.expedia.ca/Winnipeg-Hotels-Alt-Hotel-Winnipeg.h10417713.Hotel-I…>, or the Radisson<https://www.expedia.ca/Winnipeg-Hotels-Radisson-Hotel-Winnipeg-Downtown.h52…>.
From the previous survey, Kim, Simon, Giana, Fenton, and Dan planned to participate in person and Rebecca, Shin, Christine, Audrey, Kyle (maybe?), and Élisabeth plan to attend virtually. If you don’t see your name listed here, please respond and indicate how you will be attending. If you did indicate you would attend remotely and your plans have changed, please let us know asap so we can plan accordingly.
If you have any questions, please reach out to Fenton. Looking forward to our gathering in May!
Kim
