Multi-factor authentication (MFA) is required starting May 4
On May 4, multi-factor authentication (MFA) will be mandatory for all University of Manitoba students.
Action required: IST anticipates an increase in requests for support leading up to May 4. You are encouraged to enrol before the deadlinehttps://umanitoba.ca/multi-factor-authentication#getting-started to avoid any potential inconvenience.
You must enrol your account and add a device before the deadline to continue using a growing list of common UM applications. These include Microsoft365 (Outlook, Word, Excel etc.), UM Intranet, UM Zoom and Epic.
Self-enrol in Duo MFAhttps://umanitoba.ca/multi-factor-authentication#getting-started today to avoid any disruption in your access to applications.
What happens after my account is automatically enrolled in Duo MFA on May 4? If you self-enrolled prior to May 4:
* There will be no change.
If you did not self-enrol prior to May 4:
* You will be prompted to "add your device" or second method of authentication the first time you open a Microsoft 365 application or attempt to log in to UM Intranet or UM Zoom.
