Dear UM Community,
We want to inform you that the Winnipeg Police Service (WPS) has apprehended the suspecthttps://www.winnipeg.ca/police/community/news-releases/2024-10-26-public-advisory-update-arrest-c24-249144 involved in the incident that took place yesterday in the Arthur V. Mauro Residence.
We extend our gratitude to both the WPS and our University Security Services for their swift and diligent response. We also appreciate the vigilance and support of our university community and the public during this time.
The safety and well-being of our university community remains our top priority. In response to this event, we have introduced additional security measures on campus, including:
* Increased security presence in the lobby of each residence building on a 24-hour basis, complementing our regular nightly security schedule.
* Additional security personnel at residence lobby entrances.
* Routine checks of all residence entrances and exits.
* A review and enhancement of specific door security as needed.
