Practitioners will discuss how to harness Tactical Urbanism as a tool to test ideas and designs, collaborate with residents and City agencies, and bolster project support. The focus of the webinar will be on utilizing Tactical Urbanism as a three-dimensional, real-world model to engage the public and also refine designs and test ideas in the field. Case studies illustrate successful strategies for engaging neighborhood residents, city agencies, and decision-makers and making them integral to the vision, design, and implementation of these temporary and semi-permanent installations. The emphasis of these case studies will be on using Tactical Urbanism to build city agency and grassroots support while also iteratively testing design ideas, engaging stakeholders such as emergency services and city engineers in the field, and using the installation to inform future design and construction. *Speakers*:
- David "DK" Kemp, Senior Transportation Planner, City of Boulder - Mike Lydon, Principal, The Street Plans Collaborative - Carrie Nielson, Senior Planner, Fehr & Peers
