Hi Everyone,
Welcome to the new CALS board members! My last task as outgoing president is to invite you all to the incoming and outgoing board member meeting at CCLR on Friday, May 19 from 7am to 8.30. I apologize that the meeting is so early, it was the only time that was available in the busy CCLR schedule.
Please see attached for our agenda.* Note that minutes from the May 19th meeting will be circulated as soon as possible after the meeting, for approval on May 22.
You have two tasks as a new board:
1. Decide if CALS attends Congress in 2027 at Simon Fraser University. At our outgoing board meeting on May 19, we will have a discussion and make a recommendation to the new board. We will then hold space for another discussion and then a motion at our May 22 meeting. We need to make this decision now because the deadline for informing the Federation is September. A link to Congress 2027 is provided in the agenda so you can make an informed decision. 2. Based on the recommendation from the membership at the GMM on Thursday, make a motion related to the relationship between CALS and CCLR. Please pay close attention to this discussion at the GMM.
Finally, I have asked each outgoing subcommittee to summarize their activities over the last three years and make a recommendation for next steps.
