The Centre on Aging has funding opportunities that are meant to encourage the furthering of studies in aging and gerontology. Applications are now being accepted. Completed application packages and supporting documents are due May 15, 2026 by 4 PM.
The following UM student awards are available to graduate students who will be registering full time in the 2026-2027 academic year:
* Centre on Aging Betty Havens Memorial Graduate Fellowship
* Jack MacDonell Scholarship for Research on Aging
* *Esther and Samuel Milmot Scholarship
* Dr. Barbara Payne Scholarship
* University of Manitoba Retirees Association (UMRA) Scholarship
*The Milmot Scholarship is available only to undergraduate and graduate students in the Faculty of Arts.
The Centre on Aging also adjudicates one additional award: Alzheimer Society of Manitoba's graduate fellowship awards

About the workshop Led by Associate Director, Nicole Dunn, she will provide suggestions and best practices for students to submit their application package for Centre on Aging adjudicated awards. Students will also gain a better understanding of how awards are assessed and adjudicated which will help you prepare more competitive applications.
