Hello everyone! We're one week away from our last teach-in of Winter term and we'd love to see you there: Student Experiences of Advocacy Tues Mar 31, 12 - 1:30pm 203-55 Chancellors Circle - Community Engaged Learning office Register to get an event reminder!<https://forms.office.com/r/c86nvgASj8> * This will be an opportunity to hear from students who have worked with the university to make change on campus and discuss what worked; what didn’t; what barriers they faced; and what changes could be made so students can more easily impact the policies and procedures that shape their university experience! * These teach-ins are a casual, conversational space for knowledge exchange. You can expect to hear a few short presentations from students, followed by a chance to share your own lived experience and ask questions of each other. Feel free to bring your lunch! If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to reach out. Hope to see you there! We hope you'll join us for the final teach-in of Winter term: Student Experiences of Advocacy Tues Mar 31, 12 - 1:30pm 203-55 Chancellors Circle - Community Engaged Learning office Register to get an event reminder!<https://forms.office.com/r/c86nvgASj8> This will be an opportunity to hear from students who have worked with the university to make change on campus and discuss what worked; what didn’t; what barriers they faced; and what changes could be made so students can more easily impact the policies and procedures that shape their university experience! What to expect: * The first 15 minutes will be for participants to arrive, sign-in, get comfortable, and introduced to each other * The next 45 minutes will be a presentation delivered in a casual setting of sitting in a circle * The following 45 minutes will be participatory discussion with time dedicated to question and answer or activities to engage participants in dialogue. * There will be no formal break so you are encouraged to move around the space and take additional breaks as needed These teach-ins are a casual, conversational space for knowledge exchange. Feel free to bring your lunch, and drop-in even if you can't be there the whole time! Space: * Lights: As much as possible, we will try to utilize natural and ambient lighting (rather than the overhead fluorescent lights). * Washrooms: We have a private, gender-inclusive washroom in our space, but it is not wheelchair accessible (the narrowest point in the bathroom is 27" and there is no grab bar). There is a single-stall "universal toilet room" down the hall from our office (216 - 55 Chancellor's Circle). The doorways into this bathroom are 33" wide, the height to the sink is 31", and there is a grab bar on the left side of the toilet. The doors and locks are not automated. * Room: Flooring throughout our space is level. There are tiles throughout, and a rubberized carpet mat at the entrance. Illness Prevention: * Please do not attend the event if you are feeling sick or if you have symptoms. * Masks (KN95 and N95 respirators) are provided and encouraged * One large air purifier will be running before, throughout, and after the event to clean the air. * Hand sanitizer and a sink are available. Please do not bring any items that contain nuts.
