Hello DH2 Students, There have been a few of you reaching out to me to say the link sent wasn’t working. Please see the information below. Make sure you access this within the next couple of days. Don’t wait 2 weeks. First instal VPN - instructions can be found on the UofM website (link below): https://umanitoba.ca/information-services-technology/my-security/vpn-support For remote AxiUm access, follow the instruction below & see attached links: IST has provided the axiUm RDS Connection Instructions on how to connect to axiUm RDS. The attached RDS link (axiUm.rdp) will need to be copied and placed on the desktop of your personal computer. With your personal computer being outside the UofM network, a VPN connection will first need to be established on your personal computer in order to connect to axiUM RDS. If you are having issues, send an email to DENTIT (DentIT(a)umanitoba.ca<mailto:DentIT@umanitoba.ca>). They may be able to further assist you. Please note that IST does not provide support for personal electronic devices. Adjusting Tomorrow's Perio I Quiz Time

Good morning DH2, It looks like Winter is officially arriving in Winnipeg, with a significant storm expected overnight. With our Perio I quiz scheduled for tomorrow morning at 8:00 am, I understand that several of you - especially those commuting from outside or across the city - might be feeling a bit anxious about the drive. I come from the South end of the city so I share in some of your concerns. To help reduce some of the stress, I'd like to propose adjusting the quiz start time to 9:30 am. We could begin class with the scheduled lectures and then end with the quiz. This would give everyone a little extra time to arrive safely without worrying about missing the quiz due to weather-related delays. Please discuss this as a class and let me know your collective decision. Mark, as Class President, if you could let me know what your class has decided, that would be greatly appreciated. DH2 Student Cell Phone Numbers Required

Hello DH2 Students, ACTION: send me your cell phone number by end of this week - Friday, November 8, 2024. All students are required to be set up in the Cisco Unity Student Voicemail Message System (see attached document for complete details). Once I have everyone's cell phone numbers, I will submit them to IST to set you up into the system. IST will assign everyone a four-digit student mailbox number. Hi, there! I'm reaching out today because November is Career Month! I wanted to share that Career Services has partnered with UMSU and the Alumni Association again this year to host a range of sessions. A full schedule of events, along with career articles and more, can be found on our UM Career Month website: https://www.umanitoba.ca/career-services/career-planning/career-month. Some events are in person at Ft. Garry, others are virtual. For each event attended, students can enter the Career Month $1000 tuition draw, courtesy of the UM Alumni Association. If you could please share information about Career Month with your colleagues/peers and students, or if you have space in your offices to include the poster or monitor ad (attached), we'd greatly appreciate it! Some key events to note are: * Career Month Kick-off: Mon, Nov 4 - Visit the Career Month booth hosted by Career Services * Fort Garry campus - 10 am to noon (1st floor UMSU University Centre) * Bannatyne campus - 11:30 am 1:00 pm (2nd floor Brodie Centre) * Volunteer Fair - Wed, Nov 6, 10am to 2pm (1st floor, UMSU University Centre) - In partnership with Volunteer Manitoba organizations such as HSC, Canadian Blood Services, Canadian Parks and Wilderness Society.
