Hi all,
Happy Friday!
On October 29th and 30th the External Reviewers of our Faculty’s Undergraduate Academic Program will be on-site to meet with our faculty members, staff members, and undergraduate Education students with respect to our current B.Ed. and PBDE programs. During this site visit, the External Program Reviewers (Dr. Janice Compton, University of Manitoba; Dr. Dianne Gereluk, University of Calgary; and Dr. James Nahachewsky, University of Regina) will be meeting at different times with different members of our Faculty of Education community. This is a perfect opportunity — as a student— for you to voice your ideas about what you value about the current program and what recommendations you would make for improvements that would benefit you, your peers, and future Education students.
This opportunity will allow you to share information freely without UM Faculty and staff present. This means that your information will be shared in a confidential way with only the External Reviewers' notes being passed forward in the form of recommendations. This will allow you to share confidently without concerns for how your comments could be judged.
As current B.Ed. students, we invite you to attend this meeting with the External Reviewers and your peers in Education room 200, 3:30 pm to 4:30 pm on October 29. Please confirm your attendance at this meeting by October 19th, 12:00pm with which we have extended from October 12th. Once you RSVP, an invite will be sent out on October 19th to your UM email.

During this meeting, a variety of topics may be discussed including program structure, courses, teaching methodologies, student assessment practices, faculty resources, governance structure, academic responsibility and workload, and more.
It is important to note that if you RSVP to attend this meeting, your intended participation is expected, as there are a limited seats available. Given that spaces are restricted to the number of seats available in the designated room, we will confirm that we are holding a space for you. Hence, your RSVP does not serve as an expression of interest but rather your committed intention to attend. We sincerely appreciate the feedback and thoughts about the current and prospective changes to our program.
If you have a class scheduled at this time and wish to attend, please contact adu.education@umanitoba.ca, and we will try to make alternative arrangements with your Professors/Instructors. Also, if you are unable to attend in person, there will be an opportunity for you to submit your thoughts in writing.
If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact me via adu.education@umanitoba.ca.
Have a wonderful day,
All the best, Justin
