Hello Teacher Candidates!

Want to make the most of your practicum experience? EdSC offers grant money through the Fund the Future program that can be used to enhance your practicum block for you and your students! As a bonus, all materials funded will be donated to your partner school after your practicum block.

Fund the Future grant applications are now open for Fall Term 2026. Online applications must be submitted no later than Wednesday, October 21, 2026, at 11:59 pm to be considered for funding. Below is more information on the program and a link to apply.

Program Goals

* Support the professional development of teacher candidates. * Encourage effective and meaningful contributions to the field of education.

Examples that may be eligible for funding

* Start new programs, initiatives, and clubs in your practicum school. * Funding new supplies, equipment, or instruments for your practicum class/school that will be used during your lesson and that the school cannot help you financially. * Clinicians, specialists, special guests, or other people you want to bring in for a lesson. * Other initiatives approved by the Fund the Future Committee.

Funding Information

* Fund the Future distributes $10,000 of grants each year to UofM Faculty of Education Students. There is $5000 allocated to each term. * An individual student is eligible to receive a maximum of $500 in one academic year. * Fund the Future is a competitive application process and only the best applications will receive funding. * Funding will occur via reimbursement upon presentation of receipts. * The Education Student Council Fund the Future Committee reserves the right to fully fund, partially fund, or reject the application based on the established selection criteria and/or number of applications. * All materials purchased will be donated to the teacher candidates’ practicum school following their practicum experience.
