The World University Service of Canada (WUSC) at U of W is pleased to announce the return of its annual Holiday Fair Trade Sale: Nov.24-26, 10am-3pm 2nd and 3rd floors of Centennial by the escalators.
With the help of Ten Thousand Villages, a non-profit organization, we will provide an opportunity for students and the general community to choose fair trade for their holiday purchases. Fair Trade ensures that producers receive a fair price for their products and increases connections between producers and consumers, making for better ecological, social and ethical choices. Items include books, jewelry, scarves, handbags, journals, coffee, tea, chocolate and more!
Also available at the sale:
There will holiday donation cards that you can purchase in someone else's name and the proceeds of which will go to WUSC's to ‘Shine A Light' program which helps girls overcome the challenges they face in accessing education within the refugee camps. More information on the campaign can be found at: http://shinealight.wusc.ca/

Anti-Israel organizations are once again trying to politicize MEC’s sale of Israeli goods, and are attempting to overturn MEC’s rigorous sourcing policy.
These groups will be picketing many MEC stores on Saturday, November 28th.
Show your support for MEC’s ethical sourcing policy and opposition to boycott by participating in a national BUYcott of Israeli goods at MEC on Sunday, November 29th, between noon and 4pm (local time in all Canadian time zones).
Help us to defeat the propaganda war against Israel.
Become a MEC member by shopping with us on November 29th or on line before December 19th, 2009 by visiting the Mountain Equipment Co-op website.
Help us defeat this overt attempt to politicize one of Canada’s most ethical retailers.
