A Message from the Canadian Federation of Jewish Students
Dear Student,
Mazel Tov on finishing the Fall 2005 semester!
CJPAC, the Canadian Jewish Political Affairs Committee, is organizing volunteers for the Federal election. Many of you have already responded to our call to action and we thank you!
CJPAC is a new organization which seeks to advance issues of concern to the Canadian Jewish community by participating in the Canadian political arena. We are multi-partisan, therefore we work with members of all parties. We are presently looking for volunteers to assist on campaigns across the country. CJPAC will pair you with the campaign of your choice.
As a former candidate, I know firsthand how valuable students are in an election campaign. In addition to the difference you will make, you can forge excellent contacts. It's a great opportunity for networking, professional development and community involvement.
Volunteers participate in phone or door-to-door canvassing, installing lawn signs, office help, literature drops. Indicate your preferred campaign or candidate, and we will place you with that campaign. In the absence of a clear preference, we will work with you to find a suitable campaign. Any time you can spare will be valuable. You can work during and/or after the winter break.
In addition, through a partner program with Canadian Jewish Law Students' Association, we are looking for law students to fulfill legal duties required on Election Day, and thereafter, should there be a recount.
This is a great opportunity for networking with politicians, major business and community leaders, as well as a fabulous learning and professional experience. Those of you who have volunteered in the past know how important and fun it can be.
Candidates need our support. To get involved, please fill out the attached form and send it to election@cjpac.ca.
Have a very happy Chanukah and look forward to hearing from you!
Yours truly,
Josh Cooper
Executive Director
CJPAC
