She is having a walk to promote her bill in the House of Commons and gain awareness of the issue of human trafficking. Meet at 12:00 PM on May 8 at the Manitoba Legislative Buildings. More information below. 2) Come clean up the U of M during Campus Beautification Day, which is from 9:00 – 4:30 on Thursday, May 27th. The poster is attached.

Walk to Stop Human Trafficking on May 8th

Who: Member of Parliament Joy Smith, Grand Chief Ron Evans, survivors of human trafficking, and all members of the public willing to take a stand against this modern day slave trade in Canada What: Stop Human Trafficking Walk When: Saturday, May 8th at 12:00 pm Where: Walk begins at the Manitoba Legislature. We will walk a 30 minute route through downtown Winnipeg, and end back at the Manitoba Legislature. The walk will begin and end with remarks from MP Joy Smith, Grand Chief Ron Evans and survivors of human trafficking. Why: On Mother’s Day weekend, let’s show our mothers, daughters and sisters that Canadians will not tolerate this horrendous crime against them! Together we can stop the sale of women and children into sexual slavery!
