2. National "Canadian Federation of Jewish Students" News:
Visit milim.ca - the newly launched webjournal for creations by Jewish Canadian students!
Milim is a new Canadian Jewish student art and literature publication. Its mission is to strengthen Jewish identity among Canadian students through arts and literature, published in a regularly updated website and an annual print journal.
Milim is an ongoing project. It is accepting submission for both its web edition, and the forthcoming print edition. Milim is currently seeking unpublished short fiction, poetry, creative essays, divrei torah, photography, and other graphic art for use in our forthcoming on-line and print editions. We also accept reviews, interviews, and other non-fiction.
All works should contain Jewish content (but we're pretty liberal in defining that...) We generally prefer content created by Canadian students or recent graduates.
Please send submissions (and a short cover letter) as attachments to editors@milim.ca

Grants for Social Entrepreneurs: The Birthright Israel NEXT/Natan Grants for Social Entrepreneurs program has been reopened. The program aims to provide budding Jewish social entrepreneurs with grant opportunities for long-term initiatives and ongoing projects. Grant of up to $10,000 will be awarded for initiatives developed or implemented by Jewish young adults either on their own or in partnership with existing Jewish organizations and resources.
The application is available at www.birthrightisrael.com/grants and is due by March 2, 2010.
Koach Kallah: Jewish Weekend Retreat in Boston This March 4-7 is Koach Kallah, an amazing weekend for Conservative Jewish college students, at a retreat center outside of Baltimore. A few years ago, it was in Toronto, and the Kallah was a great experience for me. I am currently recruiting for this year's Kallah, and am looking for any potential participants. I'd be happy to email or skype with them, get in contact with them to boost their interest.
More information is on this site: http://koach.org/kallah.htm but I'd be happy to answer any question you or your students may have.
