U Waterloo human rights professor job
1. St. Paul's University Collegehttps://uwaterloo.ca/stpauls/ Tenure-track Position in Human Rights
St. Paul’s University College, at the University of Waterloo, invites applications for a tenure-track appointment at the rank of Assistant Professor in Human Rights. The position will commence on August 1, 2020.
Candidates must hold a doctorate in a relevant discipline with a demonstrated record of scholarship focused on human rights. Specific expertise in either the rights of Indigenous peoples or the rights of refugees would align well with other College priorities but our central objective is to appoint someone with a broad understanding of the theory and practice of human rights. Professional experience in human rights work is an asset, but not a requirement.
Please note that St. Paul’s has a remarkably strong sense of community and we look for faculty and staff who will contribute to the life and work of the College as a whole.
In addition to the standard cover letter and curriculum vitae, applications must include a two-page syllabus that shows how you would structure a one-semester course titled Introduction to Human Rights. Applications may be sent via email to Charlene Honemailto:chone@uwaterloo.ca. Questions about the position may be directed to the chair of the search committee, Dr. Peter Frickmailto:pfrick@uwaterloo.ca. The closing date is Friday, December 6th.
St. Paul’s is proud to have a diverse faculty group. We welcome applications from all qualified individuals including women, Indigenous people, members of visible minorities and persons with disabilities. All qualified candidates are encouraged to apply; however, Canadian citizens and permanent residents will be given priority in the recruitment process.
