I am pleased to tell you that Learning & Organizational Development (LOD) has opened registration in our workshops in our LODReg tool to the end of January. Some workshops that may interest you include:
Foundations of Management - January 13 - This new workshop is the first in the new UM Management Essentials Program and can be taken as a stand-alone workshop. Participants will explore the range of the managerial role such as identifying workstyles, communication skills, addressing challenges, relationship building, institutional supports and tools, and their role in advancing reconciliation.
A Coach-approach to Management - January 20 - This new workshop is part of the new UM Management Essentials program and can be taken as a stand-alone workshop. Coaching is a powerful tool for enhancing employee wellbeing and performance, and an increasingly important managerial skill in the rapidly changing workplace. This workshop builds a foundational understanding of coaching principles and skills. Participants will learn a coaching model; discuss how and when to integrate taking a coach-approach in their role; and practice coaching skills.
Project Management - December 10 or January 15 - Learn how to plan your next project using a simple and structured step-by-step process. This session will introduce you to the basics of project management from start to finish; how to contribute to the implementation of large projects; and how to lead small projects effectively.
Taking Minutes for Meetings - December 11 (online) - Minutes of meetings form an important record of the decisions made by our community. During this workshop, participants will explore the steps involved in pre-planning minutes for the meeting; keeping track of items during the meeting; transcribing notes into minutes following the meeting; distributing minutes; filing as needed; and will receive templates and examples for future use.
New Support Staff Orientation - January 22 (online) - If you are a new support staff employee, or have hired a new support staff employee, there are regular orientation sessions offered through LOD which are available both in-person and online.
Microsoft 365 sessions: I.S.T. Engagement Services provides several Microsoft 365 sessions covering topics related to Microsoft 365: Introduction to Teams, Sharing Files, Storage Management, Utilizing Channels, Loop and more. Search for "M365" when you visit LODReg to see available options.
