This email marks the beginning of the Class Council Election process. The election timeline is as follows:

* September 9th - 20th at 11:59pm: Nomination Period.

* September 22nd – 25th : Voting Period. Only M1 students will vote in this election, and votes will be submitted via an online ballot.

To nominate yourself for a position, please fill out the form below which includes:

* The position which you are running for

* A written platform of 300 words max (500 word max for Class President candidates)

* An optional video speech recording, maximum 3 minutes long (5 minute max for Class President candidates)

I have included a document with a brief overview of the duties for each position. For further details, the MMSA Bylaws and Elections/Referendum Manual can be found on the MMSA websitehttps://mmsa.online/mmsa-news/mmsa-update-updated-bylaws-and-elections-manual/. The positions that are elected as part of the Med 1 Class Council Election are:

* Class President * Academic Representatives (2 positions) * Social Representatives (2 positions) * Sports Representatives (2 positions) * Wellness Representatives (2 positions) * MMSA Medicine I Representative * Community Outreach Representatives (2 positions) * Global Health Liaison Junior * MMSA Lounge Programmer Junior** *

**This position sits only on MMSA and not Class Council, however it will still be filled as part of this election process.

Some key rules to note:

* You cannot run together with a classmate and have a shared campaign (i.e. no “slates”), including for positions that have multiple representatives.

* You can only nominate yourself for one position.

* You cannot nominate classmates for a position. Self-nomination only.

* Class Council Appointed Positions will be filled through an application process after the election led by your soon-to-be-elected Class President. *
