Hi Class of 2030!
This email marks the beginning of the Class Council Election process. The election timeline is as follows:
* September 8th – 19th at 11:59pm: Nomination Period. * September 22nd – 24th at 5:00pm: Voting Period. Only M1 students will vote in this election, and votes will be submitted via an online ballot.
To nominate yourself for a position, please fill out the form below which includes:
* The position which you are running for * A written platform of 300 words maximum (500 word maximum for Class President candidates) * An optional video speech recording, maximum 3 minutes long (5 minutes maximum for Class President candidates)

I have included a document with a brief overview of the duties for each position. For further details, the MMSA Bylaws and Elections/Referendum Manual can be found on the MMSA websitehttps://mmsa.online/resource-centre. The positions that are elected as part of the Med 1 Class Council Election are:
* Class President (1 position) * Academic Representatives (2 positions) * Social Representatives (2 positions) * Sports Representatives (2 positions) * Wellness Representatives (2 positions) * MMSA Medicine I Representative (1 position) * Community Outreach Representatives (2 positions) * Global Health Liaison Junior (1 position)
Some key rules to note:
* You cannot run together with a classmate and have a shared campaign (i.e. no “slates”), including for positions that have multiple representatives. * You can only nominate yourself for one position. * You cannot nominate classmates for a position. Self-nomination only. * Class Council Appointed Positions will be filled through an application process after the election, led by your soon-to-be-elected Class President.
