Equity, Access, and Participation: I Didn’t Know What to Say: Addressing Microaggressions in the Classroom Addressing micro-aggressions in classroom or tutorial settings is crucial for promoting inclusivity and improving patient outcomes. In this session, we will explore effective strategies and language for teachers to address micro-aggressions. By using the micro-aggressions triangle model, participants will learn how to handle such incidents in real-time. Learning Objectives: By the end of the session, the participant will be able to:
* Recognize instances of racism, discrimination and micro-aggressions occurring in our educational spaces. * Identify and share concepts associated with racism, discrimination and micro-aggressions so that we can speak a common language. * Practice communication tools and share ways to respond.
