Please see the attached memorandum from Dr. Tracey Peter, Vice-Provost (Academic Affairs), regarding the invitation for applications and nominations for the 2025 Merit Awards for members of the University of Manitoba Faculty Association (UMFA) bargaining unit. Unit heads are reminded to consider persons who may be away on leave and who might otherwise not be aware of their eligibility for this competition.
Key Points:
* Eligibility: Applicants/nominees must be UMFA members as of March 31, 2025. Only one award per person per year, and one per category in a three-year period. * Award Categories: * Teaching (up to 8 awards) * Research, Scholarly Work, and Other Creative Activities (up to 8 awards) * Service (up to 6 awards) * Any combination of the above (up to 8 awards) * Promoting Indigenous Achievement (up to 3 awards). * Application Process: * Submit applications via the MS Form link provided in the memo. * Required documents: Cover letter/letter of support, CV, and supporting documentation, all compiled into a single PDF (max 100mb). * No paper or email submissions will be accepted. * Deadline: All applications must be received by 4:00 p.m., Friday, March 6, 2026. Late or ineligible submissions will not be considered.
