From February 12 to February 13, you’re invited to take part in a pivotal decision that will impact the future of students in the Department of Occupational Therapy. The 2026 Council Referendum is your opportunity to vote on the future of the Student Initiative Fund (SIF)—funds that help enrich the academic experiences of Occupational Therapy students. ________________________________ What is the Student Initiative Fund? The Student Initiative Fund is designed to empower students through initiatives that support academic excellence and student-driven projects. These funds are supported by student contributions on a per-credit-hour or per-term basis, and your vote will determine how they are allocated. Winter 2026 Registration All students must register for each academic term to maintain program status. For Winter 2026, please ensure you are registered for the re-registration course: * Master's Re-registration (GRAD 7020) - CRN: 50187 2. GRAD 7300 - Research Integrity Tutorial Completion of GRAD 7300, a zero-credit, pass/fail online course on the Responsible Conduct of Research, is required. * Winter 2026 CRN: 58105 * Must be completed within the first year or prior to submitting research ethics applications. 3. GRAD 7500 - Academic Integrity Tutorial Completion of GRAD 7500 (or GRAD 7501 for French instruction) is also mandatory. This zero-credit course covers academic integrity responsibilities. * Winter 2026 CRN: 53733 (GRAD 7500) * Must be completed in the first term. Exceptions to Winter 2026 Term Re-Registration: * Students on a Parental or Exceptional Leave do not have to register in the term(s) for which this leave is approved. This message was sent from outside the University of Manitoba. Hello Everyone! We hope everyone has had a great start to the new school year! On behalf of the University of Alberta OTPDC Spirit committee, we are excited to invite you to participate in the 2025 g'OT Spirit Challenge! We hope you are all excited to share in the diversity and community of the OT profession and showcase your program's creativity. Attached to this email, you will find documents outlining the details of the challenge, however, you can read the most important details below. 1. The theme of this year's challenge is "OT Here, There, and Everywhere". As you all know, OT is a broad and diverse profession, we can't wait to see how this translates for each program. 2. Each video submission should be around 2-5 minutes in length and are due on Saturday October 18th at 12 PM MST 3. Video submissions will be sent by email to aebenson(a)ualberta.ca<mailto:aebenson@ualberta.ca>. Please include "g'OT Spirit Challenge and the name of your school in the subject line. 4. We will upload video submissions to the g'OT Spirit Facebook page (which can be found here<https://www.facebook.com/ThegOTspiritchallenge/>) 5. ) on October 19th at 12 PM MST. Voting will be open from October 19-26th. Voting will close at 11:59 PM on the 26th. 6. Winners will be announced on October 27th (World OT Day!) based on which post receives the most likes. Only likes on the original video on the g'OT spirit page will count. 7. The prize money will go to the school's charity of choice. We can't wait to celebrate the spirit of OT month with you all!
