Dear Dental Students Classes of 2029 & 2027 (IDDP), School of Dental Hygiene Class of 2027, and School of Dental Hygiene Direct Entry Students: Opening Assembly (The White Coat Ceremony) will be held on: Thursday, September 4, 2025 6:00 p.m. Brodie Centre Atrium (727 McDermot Avenue) If you are unable to attend the ceremony, please advise me ASAP; if I don't hear from you, I will assume you will be in attendance. Please bring your short white lab coat with you to the ceremony; be sure to have it unbuttoned and prepared to have it donned on you. You will be called onto the stage by the Dean and a Faculty member will donning your white coat on you and you will then button it up on your own. School of Dental Hygiene DIRECT ENTRY STUDENTS: You will only need to stand when you name is announced; you will not be coming onto the stage. ***Please meet staff from Dentistry & School of Dental Hygiene near the ATM/Answers booth in Brodie Centre no later than 5:15 p.m. so you can be lined up accordingly and given further instruction.*** Your family and friends are welcome to attend the ceremony, please note that it will commence at 6:00 p.m. sharp. If there are people with limited mobility attending, please let me know ASAP and I will be sure there is reserved seating for them and those accompanying them. Process of Care Review Session - August 20th

Good morning, Happy Friday! After an action-packed week, I am sure you are all ready for a well-deserved weekend. 😊 A quick note about next week – on Wednesday, August 20th we will be holding your Process of Care Review Session in Hart Lab starting at 8:30am. It will be a full morning so please be on time. I encourage you to arrive early to give yourselves plenty of time to set up and get organized. This session is intended to be a refresher on some aspects of the DH Process of Care to help get you back in the swing of things. On Wednesday, we will have 4 stations set up which you will rotate through in groups. You will spend about 45 minutes at each station. Please see the attached document for your group assignments, station details, and our schedule for the morning (also posted on UM Learn > HYGN 2312 August Orientation Activities). What to bring: • Your laptop (so you have access to the SDH Clinic Manual) • Your perio dentoform from DH2 • One complete set of instruments (one of your big kits) & your blue kit • Your digital BP machine (at least one per group) Please dress in standard lab attire (scrubs, safety glasses and/or loupes, hair tied back). A BIG thank you to Lorraine, Kim, and Kathy for helping with this session. This is going to be a full but fun morning. If you have any questions, please let me know.
