Are there any topics for which you would like some additional education? Anything you would like to discuss? If you have ideas, please let me know by the end of this week and I will consider them as I finalize our plan for that week. Dear Fellow Graduate Students, Undergraduates and Postdocs, We are thrilled to announce the upcoming **Empowering Tomorrow's Leaders: Faculty of Agricultural and Food Sciences Quiz and Debate Competition**, organized by the Department of Food and Human Nutritional Sciences Graduate Students' Association (FHNS GSA) in collaboration with the 7 departments under FAFS. This exciting event aims to showcase the academic excellence and leadership potential within our diverse departments, covering a wide array of disciplines including Agribusiness & Agricultural Economics, Animal Science, Biosystems Engineering, Entomology, Food and Human Nutritional Sciences, Plant Science, and Soil Science. Event Details We have everything ready to kick off the registration process for this exciting event. MAHN Instructor Update

Hello All, I hope all is going well for you in your research placement. I wanted to let you know, before it is announced to the department, that I have applied and have been offered an interview for the position of MAHN Instructor. I will be delivering a teaching demonstration on June 27 at 10:00am and I will be meeting with FHNS Graduate Students on June 28th. As FHNS graduate students, you are encouraged to attend these sessions and because they are dietetic related your attendance will count toward practicum hours. I also, encourage you to attend the demonstration and meetings for the other applicants. At this point, I am only interviewing for the position, and it does not necessarily mean I will be the successful candidate or that I will be moving positions. I hope this announcement does not cause you any stress, I remain committed to my role as MAHN Coordinator, and it has been a pleasure serving you in the role over the past year. Dear Graduate Students, We are excited to announce a unique opportunity for you to engage with the candidates interviewing for the instructor position in Applied Human Nutrition and Dietetics within the Department of Food and Human Nutritional Sciences (FHNS). The interview process for the first candidate will take place over two days, June 27th and 28th. Teaching Demonstration: Date: Thursday, June 27th Time: 10:00 am Details: To be circulated shortly During the teaching demonstration, your feedback is invaluable. Please consider commenting on how the instructor fit within our department, their teaching styles, and what they can contribute. Additionally, consider how they complement our existing academic staff members. Meet and Greet: Date: Friday, June 28th Time: 8:45 am Location: Room 304, Human Ecology Your participation in the Meet and Greet session is expected. MAHN Practicum Hours- IMPORTANT!

Dear MAHN Students, This is a reminder that the 4 weeks (June 3- June 28) is considered a practicum placement that is dedicated to meeting your research competencies. This placement time counts toward your 1250 required practicum hours. You are expected to remain available and actively participate in your research projects and coursework during this time. You are not permitted to be undertaking employment or taking vacation during this time. If you are ill or have other compelling reasons to be absent or unavailable during practicum hours (Tuesday to Friday 8:30-4:30) you are required to submit the Missed Practicum Day form to MAHN.info(a)umanitoba.ca<mailto:MAHN.info@umanitoba.ca> as outlined in the policy in your MAHN Handbook.
