I hope you are all doing well.
On Saturday, March 8th, 2025 we will be hosting our annual Winnipeg Brain Bee and I would like to ask if you would be willing to serve as judges, workshop leaders, or both as you have in previous years.
We currently have about 40 students signed up, and I am still waiting to hear from one of the schools, so the numbers could be somewhat higher, which means that we will definitely need a full complement of volunteers. The event will be on the Bannatyne campus; in the Apotex Building.
The format will be identical to last year. Competition will take place first; with judges (one PI and 1 student per room of ~ 8-12 students). Then there will be a lunch over a guest lecture. Then workshops taking place from 1-2:30– pending on volunteer labs leading them.
The judges will be required in the morning from 9:30-11:30 am.
The workshops will take place from 1-2:30 pm, so we request the workshop leaders to be available from 12:30- 2:30.
Volunteers helping in all other capacity will be required to be there from 9:00-3:00pm.
Please let me know ASAP if you are interested in participating this year and in what role(s) – volunteer (any assigned task), workshop leader or judge.
All volunteers will receive of co-curricular recognition for their work.
If you would like to do something new in your workshop this year, go for it!
