Nancy Hettie and Viktor Havlicek Clark Travel awards I am pleased to announce the recipients of the 2023 MNN Travel Awards. Sponsored by the Department of Physiology and Pathophysiology, with generous contributions from the Nancy Hettie Clark Travel Award and the Viktor Havlicek Lectureship, awards have been granted to: Farshid Ghiyamihoor (under the supervision of Hassan Marzban) Jarrad Perron (under the supervision of Ji Hyun Ko) Each recipient will receive $1,000 CAD to defray eligible travel expenses. Hello, I am reaching out to you to ask whether you could distribute this info to your Neuroscience colleagues regarding an IBRO Award competition for early career faculty in a Neuroscience-related field. I am a representative on the IBRO (International Brain Research Organization) US/CANADA Regional Committee. We have a call for applications for its IBRO Rising Star Award, for early career faculty in Canada and the US. There are two awards, 1 for US, and 1 for Canada, for 45,000 EUR. The Award is for early career faculty in a neuroscience-related field from diverse and/or underrepresented backgrounds, and who do not have substantial start-up funds or grant support from other agencies. The Application deadline is October 11th, 2023. The IBRO Rising Stars Awards aim to increase the successful transition and retention of diverse, early-career neuroscientists into academic positions by providing funds to make a significant difference in their research endeavors. The award supports the research needs of early career faculty from diverse and/or underrepresented backgrounds (racial/ethnic minorities, sexual orientation, disability, etc) and early career faculty who do not have substantial start-up funds or grant support from other agencies.
