Good afternoon everyone,
Please find attached the revised Terms of Reference for the Faculty of Graduate Studies Travel Award, which was recently approved by Senate and the Board of Governors. One of the notable changes to the award is the GPA requirement. It is now 3.50 in each of the last two years of study (or equivalent) and the students must be in good standing, and no longer 3.50 in the last 60 credit hours of study (or equivalent).
Otherwise, all other requirements of the award are still the same, along with the online application needed to apply for the award.
Any students previously approved under the former regulations before today's date will still be eligible.
The information has been updated on our database, and the link is here<http://webapps.cc.umanitoba.ca/gradawards/index.asp?WCI=SearchForm&WCE=brow…>.
Any questions or concerns, do not hesitate to contact me.
Thank you,
Laura.

Dear colleagues,
Please find attached the revised UMGF Terms of Reference, which were recently approved by Senate and the Board of Governors. A notable change to the award pertains to the minimum GPA requirement.
Whereas the previous regulations require a minimum GPA of 3.75 in the last 60 credit hours (or equivalent) of study, the new regulations require a minimum GPA of 3.75 in each of the last two years of study. This requirement is consistent with Tri-Council's GPA requirement for their Master's and Doctoral Awards.
Any students selected and recommended under the former regulations before today's date will be deemed eligible.
The following documents have been updated on our website http://umanitoba.ca/faculties/graduate_studies/funding/forms.html located at the bottom of the page under the "UMGF & MGS Information" heading:
- UMGF Unit Guidelines 2017-2018
- UMGF Recommendation Form 2017-2018
- UMGF Award Holders Guide 2017-2018
If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to ask.
Thank you
Rowena
