Dear Associate Deans (Research)/Research Liaison Officers:
Please be advised that CIHR Doctoral Research Awards and Post-Doctoral Fellowships require ORS approval prior to submission to CIHR through ResearchNet's eApproval sytem, and should be submitted in hard copy to ORS by the internal deadline with a completed Funding Application Approval Form (http://umanitoba.ca/research/ors/media/Funding_Application_Approval_Form.pdf).
The internal deadline for CIHR Doctoral Research Awards<https://www.researchnet-recherchenet.ca/rnr16/vwOpprtntyDtls.do?prog=2700&v…> is September 26th, with a submission deadline of October 3rd. Please note that sponsor letters are not required to be included with the submission provided to ORS for the internal deadline, but must be submitted directly in ResearchNet 48 hours in advance of the submission deadline.
The internal deadline for CIHR Fellowships<https://www.researchnet-recherchenet.ca/rnr16/vwOpprtntyDtls.do?prog=2701&v…> (including post-doctoral fellowships) is October 25th, with a submission deadline of November 1st.
It is understood that applicants will require access to ResearchNet to continue revising their applications up to the final submission deadline, and therefore the internal deadline listed within ResearchNet remains the same as the final submission deadline. ORS will review the applications as submitted in hard copy and provide feedback and approval to proceed with the ResearchNet submission.
Please circulate this information to researchers in your Faculties/Schools as appropriate to facilitate distribution to their students/fellows planning to apply to this opportunity. Applicants can contact me (information in signature below) should they have any questions regarding the application process for either of these opportunities.

Subject: Research Manitoba's 2017 Strategic Planning Survey
Dear Associate Deans (Research)/Research Liaison Officers:
On behalf of Research Manitoba, please distribute this email to researchers in your units for their participation in the 2017 Strategic Planning Survey.
Research Manitoba's mandate is to promote, support, and coordinate the funding of research in the health, natural and social sciences, engineering and the humanities in Manitoba. In the 2017 Provincial Budget, Research Manitoba's budget was reduced by $2 million to $15 million.
Research Manitoba is planning for the next three years and you are being asked to provide feedback that will help identify opportunities and considerations moving forward. Your responses to this survey will be anonymous. The information you provide will be collated and used to support the development of Research Manitoba's strategic plan.
Please take the time to complete the survey (https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/T9YPWSV) and submit it as soon as possible. It should take approximately 20 minutes to complete. If there are questions that do not apply to you or your area of expertise, please skip the question. You do not have to complete the survey in one sitting. However, please note that you must complete all answers on each page as pages with incomplete answers are not saved.
Research Manitoba would like to encourage broad participation in the survey so please feel free to share the survey link with your colleagues. We apologize in advance if you receive the link to the survey more than once. The survey will end on Friday, 15 September 2017.
If you have any questions about the survey, please contact ambrosio.catalla(a)researchmb.ca<mailto:ambrosio.catalla@researchmb.ca>.
