CIHR Institute of Aging Graduate Student awards

Please forward this message to all graduate students. The Institute of Aging awards 5 prizes of $1,000 each competition. There are 3 competitions each year. Since this program began in 2003 there has not been a University of Manitoba recipient. We have graduated Masters and PhD students who's research is excellent and would certainly be competitive. Please encourage eligible students to apply. Catherine CIHR Age Plus Award The Canadian Institutes of Health Research (CIHR) Institute of Aging Age Plus Award recognizes excellence in research on aging carried out in Canada. It is awarded monthly to the author of a published, scientific article on aging. Age Plus Award is primarily aimed at graduate and postdoctoral students and residents from all disciplines, working in the field of aging. The Faculty of Graduate Studies, with the UM Libraries and the Learning Technologies Centre, encourages you to attend an information session about copyright. Anyone who plans on incorporating a substantial portion of a copyrighted work or a complete copyrighted work (e.g., a journal article, photograph, table, map, diagram, graph, figure or poem) into their research or thesis must have the permission of the copyright holder to do so. Posting material to an online course or the Libraries' E-Reserve system, adapting or modifying a work requires permission as well. In these instances, citing material is not enough. Permission is required whether the copyrighted material came from the Web, a book, a journal or a government source. Find out about when to get permission, how to get permission, the electronic thesis option, posting material to an online classroom, and more. Enza _________________________________________________________________________________________ To All Graduate Students: This message is being sent on behalf of Disability Services. _____________________________________________________________________________________________________ Disability Services is currently looking to hire a number of tutors in a variety of subject areas and are looking for any potential graduate students who might be interested. There are a number of requests for third and fourth year classes in departments like Mechanical Engineering, Food Science, Microbiology and Film Studies, among others. Depending on demand, tutors will usually work for 2-3 hours a week, earning 15$ an hour. If anyone you know is interested in applying, we ask that they come down to the Disability Services office and pick up an Application package.
