Hello B.Ed Students! I hope classes and practicum are going well for you all. My name is Hannah, and I am the Vice Stick – External for the Education Student Council (EdSC). For this school year, we have six open positions on council for B.Ed students. For first and second years: * Vice Stick - Internal * Community Service Facilitator * Culture and Diversity Representative For ONLY first years: * Early Years Stream Representative * Middle Years Stream Representative * Senior Years Stream Representative If you are interested in running for one of those positions or interested in learning more about them, you can stop by the EdSC office (room 308), September 16th during the lunch hour (from around 12:30-1:20). While you are there, you will receive information about the roles, and you will have the chance to put your name and email down if you are interested in running. Students, If you are interested in participating in the Neuroaffirming Cohort this fall, applications open at 12:00 a.m. on September 2 (late this evening). Please create your UM Careers account before the application opens, as you will not be able to complete the process without one. Complete the Demographic Survey * A survey link will be included in the same email. Scholarship Award Process Once you have: * returned the signed Post-Secondary Student Agreement, and * completed the Demographic Survey, eligible applicants will receive a scholarship offer through UM Careers on a first come-first serve basis. Important: Please check your UM Careers Account regularly to accept the scholarship offer immediately. Any scholarship offer that is not accepted by September 13 at 11:59 p.m. will be rescinded and offered to the next eligible student. Good morning all, Just a quick friendly reminder that the application portal for the Neuroaffirming Cohort opens tonight at 12:00am (Wednesday, September 2 at 12:00 a.m.)! If you have not had the chance to review the pre-application information available on the UM Learn Module "Student Resources", we highly encourage to review everything prior to the opening. This does include the FAQ portal. The process goes as follows: * Application portal opens, you must submit your application asap! * You will receive an email from Adwoa Amponsah (amponsa2(a)myumanitoba.ca) with a Post-Secondary Institution (PSI) Student Agreement form. This may take up to a week. You must return this form signed the same day you receive it to Adwoa- this is non-negotiable. Receiving this letter indicates that your application is under review * Pending your offer into the scholarship, you must check and accept your offer in your UM Careers account It is essential to closely monitor both your email and your UM Careers account.
