Dear MAHN Students,
This is another April event.
What's the big IDEA? An Exploration of Inclusion, Diversity, Equity, and Access (IDEA) in Nutrition Research and Practice
Network: Diabetes, Obesity & Cardiovascular
Date: April 9, 2024
Time: 11:00 AM Central Time
Historically, the constructs of inclusion, diversity, equity, and access (IDEA) have not been sufficiently considered or included throughout the research process in nutrition research and practice, despite recent attempts to describe under-reported groups. Consequently, nutrition assessment benchmarks and knowledge translation tools may not accurately or adequately reflect diversity in the Canadian population, or produce meaningful dietary guidance, respectively. The purpose of this presentation is to introduce the Population Health Nutrition Research and Practice Framework and to explore the current application of IDEA within this framework. The presenters conclude with recommendations to incorporate the constructs of IDEA along the continuum of future nutrition research and dietetic practice.
Speaker(s): Maria Baranowski, MSc, RD; Nikki Webb, PhD(c), MSc, RD.

Dear MAHN Students,
This is a reminder to complete and submit your final student assessment for placement 4 on April 5. Remember this must be completed, signed, and submitted in the presence of your preceptor. Do not rate yourself prior to reviewing with your preceptor. It is your preceptor's role as your teacher to rate you in each category. Work with your preceptor to make sure they have set aside time today or tomorrow to meet with you to review and complete your form.

Dear Students,
We are working with the registrar's office to determine if there is a way that we can address this issue centrally without each individual student having to contact the registrar. Please hold off on contacting the registrar until we have explored other options. We will update you as soon as possible.
Thank you for your patience.

Jessica
