Dear Graduate Students, We are excited to announce a unique opportunity for you to engage with the candidates interviewing for the instructor position in Applied Human Nutrition and Dietetics within the Department of Food and Human Nutritional Sciences (FHNS). The interview process for the first candidate will take place over two days, June 27th and 28th. Teaching Demonstration: Date: Thursday, June 27th Time: 10:00 am Details: To be circulated shortly During the teaching demonstration, your feedback is invaluable. Please consider commenting on how the instructor fit within our department, their teaching styles, and what they can contribute. Additionally, consider how they complement our existing academic staff members. Meet and Greet: Date: Friday, June 28th Time: 8:45 am Location: Room 304, Human Ecology Your participation in the Meet and Greet session is expected. Your prepared questions will help the department gain a deeper understanding of the candidates' teaching skills and methods. This session is an excellent opportunity to engage in a productive discussion and gather valuable insights about the new academic staff. Note: The 2-day interview process for the second candidate will occur on July 8th & 9th and for the third candidate on July 11th & 12th. Details to follow. MAHN Practicum Hours- IMPORTANT!

Dear MAHN Students, This is a reminder that the 4 weeks (June 3- June 28) is considered a practicum placement that is dedicated to meeting your research competencies. This placement time counts toward your 1250 required practicum hours. You are expected to remain available and actively participate in your research projects and coursework during this time. You are not permitted to be undertaking employment or taking vacation during this time. If you are ill or have other compelling reasons to be absent or unavailable during practicum hours (Tuesday to Friday 8:30-4:30) you are required to submit the Missed Practicum Day form to MAHN.info(a)umanitoba.ca<mailto:MAHN.info@umanitoba.ca> as outlined in the policy in your MAHN Handbook. FW: Student Designation within the WRHA

Hello MAHN Students, As was discussed in class earlier this week, a memo was sent out to WRHA staff on the changes to student designation within WRHA (attached). This updated policy is currently only effective within the WRHA. If you are doing your PSE in other health regions, you will need to follow the policy of that health region, not the WRHA updated policy. If you are in another region for PSE, please confirm with your preceptor at the time of your placement as the policy may or may not change for the other regions within the next few weeks.
