Hello everyone, Here is your last reminder to get your final exams in for printing. If you still haven't sent in your Exams to RO and you have 50+ students, do so ASAP. If you are doing your own printing, I recommend printing with lots of time to spare in case of any issues. Please see below for more information regarding final exam printing: The exam document must be submitted at least ten business days in advance of your exam date. There are two options for final exam printing and supplies: Option 1 should be used ONLY if you have 49 or LESS students enrolled in a course. Option 2 should be used when you have 50+ students enrolled in a course. Further information can be reviewed on the Departmental resources - Exam printing and supplies page. <https://umanitoba.sharepoint.com/sites/um-intranet-final-exams/SitePages/Pr…> Option 1: For those who proceed with printing their own exams please note the following: 1. Printer: use departmental equipment 1. Considerations for printing: * Format exams using legal size paper (8.5 x 14). * Print a sample copy first to confirm layout, margins, formatting, etc. * Print exams double-sided. * Check current enrollment for the number of exams required (plus a few spares) * For exams seated in multiple rooms, separate exams ahead of time for the number of students in each room. * Confirm the printing requirements and submission deadline with the printing vendor to ensure exams are delivered in time (if applicable). Option 2: For those exams where printing support will be requested of the Registrar's Office (RO), the exam document must be submitted at least ten business days in advance of the exam date. Dear Members of the University Community, The Winnipeg Police Service has issued a Dangerous Person Alert. There has been a report of a person at large on the University of Manitoba campus armed with a knife. The suspect was seen in the area of the Allen Building. He is described as a black male wearing black clothing. If you see this individual, do not approach and call 9 1 1. Leave the area immediately if safe to do so and stay out of the area. Check media and social media for updates. Winnipeg Police Service (WPS) is on campus conducting a search, but no arrest has been made at this time. For your safety: * If you are on campus, remain where you are, stay in place, and lock all doors. * If you are not on campus, please do not come to campus. Hello everyone, Final Exams are quickly approaching! This email provides important information about Exam Printing for the upcoming Fall 2024 exam period. Your final exam will need to be sent to RO office to facilitate the printing of exams. Please read carefully. The exam document must be submitted at least ten business days in advance of your exam date. There are two options for final exam printing and supplies: Option 1 should be used ONLY if you have 49 or LESS students enrolled in a course. Option 2 should be used when you have 50+ students enrolled in a course. Further information can be reviewed on the Departmental resources - Exam printing and supplies page. <https://umanitoba.sharepoint.com/sites/um-intranet-final-exams/SitePages/Pr…> Option 1: For those who proceed with printing their own exams please note the following: 1. Printer: use departmental equipment 1. Considerations for printing: * Format exams using legal size paper (8.5 x 14). * Print a sample copy first to confirm layout, margins, formatting, etc. * Print exams double-sided. * Check current enrollment for the number of exams required (plus a few spares) * For exams seated in multiple rooms, separate exams ahead of time for the number of students in each room. * Confirm the printing requirements and submission deadline with the printing vendor to ensure exams are delivered in time (if applicable). Option 2: For those exams where printing support will be requested of the Registrar's Office (RO), the exam document must be submitted at least ten business days in advance of the exam date. Corinne From: Jennifer Palichuk <Jennifer.Palichuk(a)umanitoba.ca> Sent: Friday, September 1, 2023 2:24 PM To: kin-rec(a)lists.umanitoba.ca Subject: Teach-In for Reconciliation - September 29th - 8:30 am - 11 am Please share widely ***Shared on Behalf of Dr. Cary Miller, Associate Vice-President (Indigenous)*** On September 29th in recognition of the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, the Nursing Students' Association in collaboration with the Office of the Vice-President (Indigenous), the National Centre for Truth and Reconciliation, the Centre for Human Rights Research, the University of Manitoba's Student Union, PINE (Pathway to Indigenous Nursing Education), and the Indigenous Students' Association will be hosting a day of events from 8:30 am to 3 pm. Part of the day's events will include a Teach-In for Reconciliation at Investors Group Athletic Centre from 8:30 am to 11 am. We invite and encourage instructors to bring their classes to the Teach-In to hear: * Dr. Sean Carleton on combating Residential School denialism; * Dr. Cary Miller on the Doctrine of Discovery and the Pope's apology; * Marc Kruse on the Peace and Friendship treaties which were formed at the Treaty of Niagara; * Prof. Brenda Gunn on the Truth and Reconciliation Commission and the United Nations Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples. All Faculty, Staff, and Students are encouraged to attend the event. An agenda detailing the events of the day will be shared in the coming days. The first 500 people will receive a free t-shirt.
