Good afternoon, Class of 2029 To support scheduling accommodations for religious holidays or important cultural events in Pre-Clerkship, Undergraduate Medical Education is collecting information from current students regarding their observances. The focus of this survey is to help plan exam dates; however, scheduling of required academic activities may also be adjusted when possible. Please note that the schedule is already set for the 2025-2026 academic year. Accommodations can still be provided through discussion with UGME Student Affairs, but this survey will help identify exam dates which need to be reviewed. The Community Interest Groups, EDI Working Groups, and Global Health Portfolio will be running an Info Night happening Friday, September 5th, from 5–7pm in the Joe Doupe Concourse. This will be an opportunity to: * Meet second-year students involved in these groups * Learn about the amazing initiatives and projects they worked on last year * Ask questions and see what you might want to get involved in this year There will be tables set up with posters, handouts, and snacks! It’s a great way to explore opportunities, find communities you connect with, and get ideas of where you may want to be involved in medical school! The purpose of the instructor evaluation, like the other types of evaluations, is to provide feedback on teaching and learning which will be used to make improvements to the academic program. The instructor evaluation instrument is attached. Your class has been randomly organized into two groups; each group will evaluate a specified number of instructors. In accordance with Program Evaluation Policy & Procedures, all instructors who teach three or more lectures in the PF1 course will be evaluated using the stated instrument. Indigenous Medical Students Association (IMSA) – Applications Now Open!

Through the work of the EDI Indigenous Health Working group last year, the Indigenous Medical Students Association (IMSA) has officially been established, and is now welcoming applications for their inaugural council! IMSA was created by and for Indigenous medical students to build a safe, empowering, and culturally grounded community within medicine. The mandate of the group is focused on: * Supporting and uplifting Indigenous medical students through mentorship, wellness, and community building. * Advocating for Indigenous learners at the college, faculty, provincial, and national levels. * Collaborating with faculty and community partners on Indigenous health initiatives, including in areas of outreach, research, and wellness. * Amplifying Indigenous voices and working toward systemic change.
