Dear Faculty and Staff, Please join me in thanking and honoring Debra Beach Ducharme as she moves on to new adventures! Debra was the Director, Indigenous Health Integration at Ongomiizwin, Rady Faculty of Health Sciences. Over the past decade, Debra has worked closely with curriculum committees across the College of Nursing, bringing indigenous perspectives and ways of knowing which have helped tremendously in advancing the work of reconciliation throughout the college. Debra, we are grateful for your partnership and guidance, and we wish you the very best in your future endeavors. The Indigenous Leadership Circle will present a gift to Debra during an Annual Feast at the end of November. Equity Leadership Breakfasts are rooted in the importance of connection and mutual support in opening up career pathways. Each gathering features invited speakers from specific backgrounds and identities, to share insights and reflections from their own personal leadership journeys. These sessions are open to faculty and staff in any position who identify as members of the systemically marginalized groups featured. I hope that you can share with your staff, and support participation by those interested in attending sessions that align with their identities. Dear Faculty and Staff, The College of Nursing is seeking expressions of interest from faculty and staff who would like to serve as a representative on the newly established Rady Faculty of Health Sciences (RFHS) Social Justice & Accountability Committee (SJ&A). The Committee will provide faculty-wide leadership, collaboration, and oversight in advancing priorities related to social justice, accountability, Indigenous health, anti-racism, equity, accessibility, community engagement, and related strategic initiatives across the RFHS. A copy of the revised draft TOR is attached. We are seeking individuals who are interested in contributing to this important work.
