TITLE: Targeting the motor cortex to restore locomotion after incomplete
spinal cord injury
Marina Martinez, Ph.D.
Associate Professor
Département de Neurosciences
Université de Montréal
Montréal, Quebec
RESEARCH PROFILE: Dr. Martinez is an Associate Professor in the Department
of Neuroscience at the University of Montreal. She has had a long-standing
interest in
spinal cord injury research. Her lab uses small and large animal models and
a combination of behavioral, electrophysiological and engineering approaches
to
understand the neurophysiological mechanisms underlying plasticity of
locomotor systems and to test neuroprosthetic approaches aimed at guiding
recovery of walk.
