Public Lecture: Podcasts and Digital Storytelling - Dr Leslie McMurtry (University of Salford)

A special guest lecture for ENGL2190: Books and Bytes: Literature in the Digital Age. Based on on-going research by Dr. McMurtry surrounding audio drama, podcasts, sound design and more, this lecture delves into the world of

The UMIH is seeking proposals for its External Grant Support program. An initiative to help researchers in the Faculty of Arts who are seeking external funding for conferences, workshops, colloquia, and other local research events.
This program was designed to provide opportunities for scholars to secure support, both cash and in-kind, from the UMIH in order to leverage funds from other agencies.

Model Minority Mutiny: Online workshop (Prairie Asian Organizers)

Join Prairie Asian Organizers in exploring Asian Identity and challenging the Model Minority Myth. This talk is open to people of Asian descent living in Winnipeg who are looking for a community with whom they can organize against anti-blackness and anti-indigeneity. Join Dr. Laura Robson, Oliver-McCourtney Professor of History at Penn State University in a public lecture exploring how a historiographical focus on mass violence – encompassing the concepts of genocide, ethnic cleansing, forced migration, appropriation of resources, mass imprisonment, and forcible denationalization – can help explain the emergence of a dystopian politics of identity across the modern Middle East.
