Join us for MHIKNET's latest education session: The Perils of Predatory Journals The Perils of Predatory Journals November 22nd, 2017 – Online – Register at: http://<http://bit.ly/2AmjUfj>bit.ly/2AmjUfj<http://bit.ly/2AmjUfj> 11:00 am – Noon Predatory journals are the fake news of the medical literature, publishing false or sub-par research for a fee. They’ve become more prevalent in recent years, and researchers and clinicians must be on guard to avoid using or publishing in them. In this session, you will learn about the nature of predatory journals, how they’re affecting the medical literature, and how to identify and avoid them. In this session, we will also address fake news more generally, and teach you how to distinguish between genuine and fake news stories. Those of you at Manitoba Health may wish to join us for our in person version of the session, on November 14th at 11:00 am, 300 Carlton, room 2026.
