Subject: [Gs-suppstaff-contacts] Vanier Canada Graduate Scholarship Workshop - Information Package and Registration
[University of Manitoba Faculty of Graduate Studies]
________________________________
Vanier Canada Graduate Scholarships
The Vanier Canada Graduate Scholarship is the most prestigious scholarship in Canada and is valued at $50,000 per year for three years during doctoral studies (http://www.vanier.gc.ca). In an effort to support students interested in applying for this award through the University of Manitoba, and to help units/departments identify competitive applicants, the Faculty of Graduate Studies has prepared an information package<http://umanitoba.ca/graduate_studies/htmlmail/Vanier%20Canada%20Graduate%20…> (http://bit.ly/2q9juVr). This document includes information on timelines, eligibility, application procedures, and selection criteria.
In addition, workshops will be offered in June at the Fort Garry<https://umanitobagrad.askadmissions.net/Portal/EI/ViewDetails?gid=623577bd2…> and Bannatyne<https://umanitobagrad.askadmissions.net/Portal/EI/ViewDetails?gid=6235774bf…> campuses. The aim of these workshops is to strengthen applications by providing an overview of the application and selection process. All interested individuals may attend, including but not limited to, potential applicants (i.e. incoming or current Ph.D. students who will not have completed more than 20 months of doctoral studies as of May 1, 2018), advisors, graduate chairs, support staff, etc.
Please contact the Awards Office<mailto:graduate.awards@umanitoba.ca> in the Faculty of Graduate Studies with inquiries.

Subject: [Adr-rlo] A presentation Canadian Light Source Capabilities
Dear Colleagues:
Attached please find an invitation for a presentation by Dr. Tomasz Wysokinski from Canadian Light Source in Saskatoon. It is an impressive facility to conduct research in many areas. Researchers in your units will benefit to learn about CLS capabilities and how to access these facilities for their research. Please also ask researchers to share this invitation with their graduate students and postdoctoral fellows. Dr. Wysokinski is willing to meet one-on-one with some people after his talk. If there is an interest please ask researchers in your units to let Gail know and we will try to accommodate these requests based on his travel plans.
I also request you post this poster as appropriate bulletin boards in your units.
Sincere thanks.
