But beyond the doom-and-gloom of environmental predictions, there is a growing movement of farmers and researchers that are fueled by optimism and seeing on-the-ground success with soil regeneration. In this discussion, Mel will outline the perspective from Ontario, who is doing what and how each part of the value chain can be a part of the soil solutions. Mel Luymes is a freelance agri-environmental sociologist and co-founder of the Ontario Soil Network. Her family runs a grain farm and custom farming business near Guelph, Ontario, using precision cover crops, no-till and strip-till on their own fields.
