Advanced Weed Science PLNT 7340 which is on a biennial cycle (pun intended) will be offered this fall term.
For those enrolled or those interested in enrolling, an initial meeting to determine class times and initiate discussion on the specific topics for this edition of the course will be held in Plant Science 310 on Tuesday Sept. 12th at 9:00 AM. If this represents a conflict please let me know immediately. For anyone interested in enrolling, please also let me know before this meeting via a brief e-mail.

We have an award called the Roma Zenovea Hawirko Graduate Scholarship - I was hoping you could circulate this award to your department/students who may be interested in this award!
The award itself is for a student who is conducting a clearly defined and innovative research project in the area of microbiology. Further details and eligibility of the award is found in our database<http://webapps.cc.umanitoba.ca/gradawards/index.asp?WCI=SearchForm&WCE=brow…>.
Some details of the award are as follows ...
1) As at Fall 2017 is enrolled full-time in the Faculty of Graduate studies in the first or second year of any Ph.D. program delivered by a department in the Faculty of Science or the Faculty of Agricultural and Food Sciences;
2) Has achieved a minimum degree grade point average of 3.5 (or equivalent) based on the last 60 credit hours of study (or equivalent);
3) And the award is valued at approximately $8000.
Please feel free to circulate this award to the students in your department and let them know the deadline for application is September 6, 2017.
