Canada’s agri-food system proved to be incredibly resilient during the pandemic and is already driving economic and social recovery. But there is enormous potential for the agri-food system to do more. Canada must have a plan to protect and invest in our agri-food systems so that it can be both economically beneficial and sustainable for the long term.
The next 4 years have the potential to be full of change for Canada’s agri-food system and partners in the system will need to come together to build a roadmap to help grow the competitiveness and sustainability of the agri-food industry.
For Canada to move forward and maintain a thriving, sustainable agri-food system, the right policies must be put in place, backed by strategic thinking, a systems approach, and supported by strong public-private partnerships and aspirational leadership.
