If there is an opportunity to promote digital collections and exhibits at the Strike conference, the University of Calgary Archives asked that I pass along their interest in jointly promoting their collection alongside our digital exhibit. Once a promotional poster is finalized, I was wondering if it would be possible to send it to conference organizers so that copies may be posted or made available at the conference. Boots Riley event

Dear all: I was talking to Molly McCracken from CCPA and apparently they would very much appreciate it if we would sponsor their event with Boots Riley on May 11. You all probably recall that we decided we couldn't partner with the CCPA on the event because the only date he could come is May 11 - one day too late for us. But Molly tells me that they would benefit significantly from our sponsorship, which would involve us formally becoming a sponsor and supporting them in-kind (they would also accept monetary support, but I am guessing we can afford only in-kind). They are about to launch the event, so if we are able to sponsor, it would help if we could tell them soon. Is there support for this among the committee? UW Conference Services update

Here's the latest word from UW Conference Services, regarding classrooms, an IT person, and water for speakers. I have made note of the additional classroom rental for when I am able to book those rooms. As for the Saturday, because the day is shorter it is more cost efficient to have a technician stay so that has already been included. I will put together a number for you if they were to stay for the entire conference as well. We do not have water pitchers but Diversity would easily be able to do water service throughout the conference for you.
