CALL FOR APPLICATIONS
EHESS Summer School
5 days for international students
on "Mapping violences"
3-7 July 2023
at Campus Condorcet Paris-Aubervilliers
Relying on its resolutely international dimension, EHESS organizes its second Summer School edition on the Campus Condorcet Paris-Aubervilliers. It will be held from 3 to 7 July 2023, is destined to international students and will explore the theme "Mapping violences".
Registration will be open from 1 February to 31 March 2023.
The EHESS Summer School on Campus Condorcet Paris-Aubervilliers is meant to be an international event gathering all institutions present on this new European research campus in the humanities and social sciences.
This EHESS initiative is, pedagogically and scientifically supervised by a committee of scholars from several member institutions located on the Campus.
The theme of the 2023 edition: "Mapping violences"
By crossing different disciplinary, thematic and cultural approaches, the aim is to endeavor to map violence, to study practices, situations, experiences of violence and their arrangement in topographic, social and mental spaces. The objective is to favour the dialogue between different perspectives of research on violence and more particularly on extreme violence. Be it political violence, state violence, wars, guerrilla wars, revolutions, oppression, massacres, and domestic violence, since it is often -in these contexts- amplified, will also be broached. How are we to observe, define and analyse these violent phenomena? What are the methodological, epistemological and ethical questions specific to these particularly sensitive and fluid objects?
Apply to the EHESS Summer School<https://www.ehess.fr/fr/vie-l%C3%A9cole/call-applications-ehess-summer-scho…>

A training on education offered in French
The University of Ottawa Interdisciplinary Research Laboratory on the Rights of the Child (IRLRC) is pleased to offer a training program in French on Child Rights Impact Assessment (CRIA) under the theme Spotlight on Education on May 25, 2023. The goal of this course is to offer students and professionals the fundamentals of CRIA and the opportunity to use this tool to improve decision-making in different areas and to ensure that children's rights are respected in the processes and outcomes.
It will focus on the education sector, where many types of decisions are made about children or have an impact on children. The training includes a component in which decision-making processes are clarified and children's rights issues are explained. Finally, the training allows face-to-face participants to gain practical experience in using CRIA. The program is intended for all those involved in education, including administrators, educators, counsellors, social workers, lawyers, as well as academics and students. The training will be offered in French. Those who successfully complete the class will receive a certificate of recognition from the University of Ottawa.
