I've posted the updated virtual reference schedule for 2011/2012 on staff.lib at: http://bit.ly/qvZrhk
You can also find it under Links & Resources on the staff.lib homepage - the link is currently called "Ask A Librarian Schedule" but I've asked Jared to change it to "Virtual Reference Schedule".
Starting this September, the virtual reference hours will also be included in the general Library Hours information sheet. This is the first time we've made the hours public.
The NJM, Dafoe and Sciences libraries will share coverage of Saturday afternoon service, beginning on Sept.10. Shaun Mulvey will be covering Sundays and evenings again this year. Sunday service starts on Sept 11 at 1pm and evening service starts on Monday Sept 12 at 5pm.
There are some problems with Libraryh3lp today - they've sent out a number of tweets about restarts.
If you're on chat, but the widget is showing as offline, they advise you to log out and log back in again. In our case it would mean logging out of Pidgin and then loggin in normally.
Just an FYI. A virtual reference patron reported this morning that the Journal of Interferon and Cytokine Research was displaying a "Technical Difficulties" message. I was able to confirm that and have just heard from our e-serials folks that the new Gage platform has been unstable for the last couple of weeks. So you may be getting queries about journals residing on that platform.
I advised the patron this morning to request their article through Doc Del, noting that our copy is currently offline. Other libraries may be having the same issues of course, but it's worth a shot.
