Hi,
A decision was made last Thursday in the management group meeting to purge inactive patron records with a total balance below $20. If a patron (most likely he or she graduated in the past) would like to pay the fine but you cannot find the record in Alma, it means the patron record has been purged. This patron doesn't need to worry about the balance anymore. It is just a one-time occurrence.

Hi,
We noticed that some patrons are unable to receive any email notifications. It's because no email addresses in their record have been marked as preferred. We have contacted IST to check the Iridium adaptor. At the same time, if you come across a patron record like this, please manually open the email address and check the yes option in the Preferred address section. It will temporarily fix the problem until IST release a solution.

There seems to be a bit of confusion from our patron’s and VR staff with the idle message we originally suggested that reads: "I’ve stepped away from the desk…"
You can enter your Idle Message under Nicknames and other settings.
Scroll down to LibChat Settings to make the change.
Instructions on changing your Idle Message and suggested language and elapsed time before the idle message appears to patrons is at this link.

Hi,
As what you may have noticed, patrons with a debit card from CIBC won't be able to use Interac Online to make an online payment. The reason is that CIBC doesn't support the Interac Online service.
http://interac.ca/en/interac-online-consumer.html has a list of participating banks and credit unions on their main page.

SpringShare just sent us a solution to the issue of VR staff not displaying in Staff Online:
1. Click on the Logout link in the upper right of orange navigation bar.
2. Clear the browser's Cookies AND Cache
3. Sign back into LibAnswers
Sometimes a browser's cookies and/or cache will hold onto incorrect or outdated information. Clearing the cookies and cache will force the browser to get the most up-to-date information, so it's a great first line of defense when troubleshooting problems that pop up.

We discovered that staff logged-in to LibChat may not have their names displayed in the Staff Online box in LibChat
When you login to LibChat and do not see anyone listed under Staff Online initiate a Group Chat (icon in the top right corner of Staff Online box) to say hi and find out who else is online with you.
This will help us with our shift change transitions.
We are working with SpringShare to resolve this issue.
