Thanks to everyone who replied. I appreciate that so many of you took the time to give us your feedback!
We will be completing the final edits next week and hope to have the FAQs available in late July. At that point you will receive more information on how the FAQs will be integrated with Ask Us.
In the meantime, if you have any questions just send me an email.

Subject: Help Us Review the new FAQ system
Hi Everyone
We are getting close to launching our new FAQs but before we complete final edits and go live we would like to invite you to test the system and give some feedback.
You can view the FAQ website at https://umanitoba.libanswers.com<https://umanitoba.libanswers.com/>. When we go live the FAQs will be linked from the Ask Us slide-out in Primo to encourage users to consult the FAQs before they initiate a chat. Please keep in mind that the FAQs do not replace the content currently found in the Help Hub. Instead they are designed to help users navigate to Help Hub information more easily and reduce the number of basic questions asked through virtual reference.
If you would like to offer feedback you may do so by replying to this email by June 21. Please pay particular attention to any:
* Broken links
* Incorrect information
* Errors in spelling or grammar
* Website glitches (both mobile and desktop views)
The questions included in the FAQs were chosen based on the most commonly asked questions documented in chat transcripts over an 18 month period. At this time, we will not be adding any additional FAQs. We will however, periodically review this resource as library services and user needs will inevitably change.
Please also note that we are not reviewing the content of Help Hub pages as part of this process so please limit your review to FAQ pages only.
Thanks for your help with this.

Hi Everyone
This is to inform Ask Us staff of a procedural change for materials requested from the Icelandic Collection storage areas. If you receive a request on Ask Us for Icelandic Collection materials that are located in storage please refer the patron to Archives & Special Collections by providing the Archives’ phone number (204-474-9986) or email (archives(a)umanitoba.ca<mailto:archives@umanitoba.ca>). Archives staff will retrieve the item for the patron.
Thanks.

Subject: Access to Iceland Storage Rooms
Hi Kyle,
We are making some changes to access to the materials in the locked Iceland Work Room and Iceland Storage room on the 3rd floor. Mainly the people who ask to see materials in those rooms are researchers familiar with the Icelandic collection. They are infrequent and generally have been routed to Emma, but the Icelandic Collection is reporting through the Archives now so Emma has agreed to route those requests to Archives. The reason I’m contacting you is that apparently on at least one occasion one of these requests came through the “Ask Us” box in Primo and Gaitree went into one of the rooms to retrieve the requested materials. Going forward we would like requests coming via Ask Us for any Icelandic materials that aren’t in the stacks to also be directed to the Archives – either their general phone number (204-474-9986) or email address (archives(a)umanitoba.ca<mailto:archives@umanitoba.ca>).
If you have any questions or concerns please let me know.
Thanks,
Les

Is anyone available to swap this shift with me? I can cover pretty much anything on Friday June 21st, or Tuesday June 18th.

Hi all,
Just a reminder that when transferring tickets to the WRHA Virtual Library queue, please transfer them to the queue itself, not to a specific user (unless you've spoken to that staff member ahead of time). This can be done by selecting Transfer to: Queue, WRHAVL Queue, and Do not assign to a specific user, as shown in this screenshot:
