February 14/2023
Hi Everyone,
We have been experiencing large ice chunks falling off the Plant Science Seed Storage/Processing/Seed, straw, hay Drying Building. A Car was damaged by falling ice breaking the rear window. There is great concern for you yourself getting impaled by the falling ice.
For now, because we have done as much as we can to block off this area until the pylons and danger tape come in, please stay away from this building and only enter this building from the east door on the seed storage area or the north drying bed door just opposite the Plant Science Field Station main door. All doors are marked safe to enter or not safe to enter. Use only these two doors to access the whole building for your complete safety from falling ice blocks from the roof.
Look up and stay 10' away from the building when walking to avoid falling ice.
Please park at least 8 feet from the building between the building and your front bumper and only if you absolutely must park. This will be at your own risk because you have been warned about this falling ice. More permanent Barricades hope to be in place shortly.
With thanks,
(Mel) Melvin Kaufman, P. Ag.
