Hi folks
Thank you for your work to ‘save the date’ in preparation for our board meetings. We are a large and national group of people, and it can be really difficult to find time to gather together. Here are the dates and times for our upcoming board meetings:
October 3 (11am to 1pm Central time, virtual, zoom link to follow)
March 4th (9am to 11am Central time, virtual, zoom link to follow)
Annual board meeting, May 15th (9am to 5pm; Winnipeg, MB)
Onboarding note: The CALS board does not currently have specific onboarding materials or a collection of board-related files in a single location (or a web-based location to store and share files), and this is one of the tasks I am working on. For now, please review the CALS website: https://canadianleisurestudies.ca/, and read over the minutes from the last three years as well as the most current bylaws (all attached). In September, I would like to meet with each one of you for 15 to 30 minutes to welcome you to the board and get to know you. In preparation for this meeting, read over the attached materials and think about the following questions:

What would you like to get out of your time on the board in the next three years?
What skills, connections, resources, and expertise do you have to offer the board?
Do you have any questions or concerns about your role on the board?
What two or three things would you like to see the board accomplish in the next three years?
What opportunities do you see for the board?
What challenges do you see for the board?
